PRACTICAL INFORMATION

About Visas

If you are a European or American, you are in luck, because visiting France is a breeze. When you arrive in the country, you’ll be given a free Schengen visa which gives you 90 days in the country. Learn more here.

Safety

France is a very safe country, and rule of law is taken seriously. Unless you are walking around Paris in the middle of the night in the wrong sections of town, you will feel perfectly safe exploring this beautiful country with kids. That said, beware of planned strikes, which tend to be France’s go-to activity for getting things done. When strikes are in full-swing, things can get crazy, so be in the know about when and where they will take place.

Is France Child-Friendly?

Most major French cities are flush with children’s playgrounds, and green spaces for kids to get their energy out. Museums often offer discounts for children’s tickets or family tickets which include kids. Many museums, like the Louvre, offer free admission for kids under 18 years old. Win!
